The Main Grill Problem
These perfect flame grill models were recalled because the grills were malfunctioning and causing hazard to the user. The burners were deteriorating and causing the flames to become abnomrally large, and uncontrollable. On some models, there was further risk of the lids catching fire and posing an even greater threat to the consumer. These grills were to be immediately recalled and all distributors were to stop sales immediately.
Reported Accidents/Incidents
There were reports of about 41 different occasions where the burners on the same model grill deteriorated and caused abnormal flames and uncontrollable fire situations. Additionally, there were 23 reports of the lids catching on fire, and 22 overall injuries, mostly minor burns to hands and arms, with one eye injury requiring major surgery.
